UAE-Africa Tourism Investment Summit: A New Era of Collaboration

Dubai is set to host the inaugural UAE–Africa Tourism Investment Summit on October 27, 2025, at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference Centre. Organized by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism as part of the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS World 2025), the summit aims to strengthen economic and tourism partnerships between the UAE and African nations, focusing on mutual investments in key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and related services.

Under the theme “Building Bridges for Sustainable Growth,” the summit will bring together over 350 leaders, including ministers, government officials, investors, tourism leaders, and entrepreneurs from the UAE and 53 African countries. This high-level gathering underscores the UAE's role as a trusted partner in fostering sustainable development and economic integration across the African continent.

Strategic Partnerships and Investment Opportunities

A significant highlight of the summit is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism and The Bench, the organizers of FHS World. The MoU, signed in the presence of H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and H.E. Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry, aims to enhance collaboration in organizing the event and promoting investment opportunities in tourism-related activities and projects across Africa.

This partnership aligns with the UAE's broader strategy to position itself as a gateway for investment into Africa's emerging markets, facilitating cross-continental collaboration in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Empowering Africa’s Tourism Sector

The summit serves as a platform to explore and unlock Africa's vast tourism potential. By fostering trust and collaboration between the UAE and African nations, the event aims to create sustainable growth opportunities that benefit both regions. Discussions will focus on enhancing infrastructure, promoting cultural exchange, and developing innovative solutions to address challenges in the tourism sector.

The UAE's commitment to supporting Africa's tourism industry is evident in its ongoing initiatives and investments across the continent. The UAE has emerged as Africa's largest investor, committing $110 billion from 2019 to 2023, with a significant portion allocated to renewable energy projects. This influx of investment underscores the UAE's dedication to fostering sustainable development and economic growth in Africa.

Looking Ahead

As the UAE–Africa Tourism Investment Summit approaches, anticipation builds for the opportunities it will present in strengthening bilateral ties and advancing sustainable tourism development. The summit not only aims to enhance economic cooperation but also to pave the way for a more integrated and prosperous future for both the UAE and Africa.
